110-year-old Southampton home of Pamela Gross and James
Finkelstein was the wonderful site of a chic summer luncheon
to celebrate the Juilliard School’s Centennial Gala. The hosts
were the gala’s chairs, Cynthia and Dan Lufkin.
Among the guests were Kitty Patterson Kempner, Pamela Fiori,
Kathy and Rick Hilton, Jessie Araskog, Andrea Stark,
Douglas Hannant, Ruth Fleischmann, Frederick Anderson, Debbie
Bancroft, R. Couri Hay.
Also Juilliard vice president Tony Newman,
Sharon Bush, Christine Schott,
Michèle Gerber Klein, Audrey Gruss, Jane
Holzer, Bettina Zilkha, Mai Harrison, Tinsley Mortimer and Karen
LeFrak who brought two four-month-old standard poodle
puppies that had been sired by her beloved champion Mikimoto.
To create a delightful mood and remind
everyone of the immense value of a Juilliard education, there was
a trio of students who perform as the Matisse Music Ensemble:
flutist Adi Menczel, clarinetist Igor Begelman, and
bassoonist Larisa Gelman.
Juilliard board member Kitty Patterson Kempner announced
the school’s grand 100th birthday party.
“The capstone event of the yearlong
celebration will be a televised gala on April 3, 2006, at Lincoln
Center, which will include performances by some of Juilliard’s
best-known alumni, including Laura Linney, The West
Wing’s Bradley Whitford, Renee Fleming, Itzhak Perlman,
Leontyne Price, Emanuel Ax and Wynton Marsalis.
