Joy For Basabe
Nuptials
HE President's Daughter and the Publishing
Emperor's granddaughters came to a celebration of a marriage at the
newly opened Salon Club in lower Manhattan.
First Twin Barbara Bush joined
Dylan Lauren, Tori Spelling, and Amanda, Gillian and Lydia
Hearst in celebrating the marriage of good friend Fabian
Basabe and the gorgeous Martina Borgomanero at
a black tie winter ball.
The place was overflowing with good will and good
cheer for this beautiful young married couple. We wish them
a long and happy life together.

Fashionistas On Parade
 HE President's Niece, the Publishing
King's daughter, and the dynamic young designer celebrated Fashion
Week in New York. In the annual rite of spring, in the tents at
Bryant Park in the middle of Manhattan, the glitterati come to see the
latest fashions from the hottest young and old designers.
Holly Kristen, the 23-year-old wunderkind,
heated the runways with her homage to the beautiful outdoors.
Delicate and vibrant shades of yellow and green and gold transfused
the clothes, and a "billowing cloud" dress was my personal
favorite. One I'd wear to the Oscars any day.
Ashley Bush, President Bush’s niece, and Catherine
Forbes of the Forbes publishing empire, were on hand with 300
other fashionistas to cheer on the young designer.

Painting The Town Red
HE Oscar-winning movie stars along with
the power elite celebrated the Red Ball at The
Pierre. Oscar-winning producer Marty Richards (Chicago)
gathered his award winning actors, Catherine Zeta Jones
and Richard Gere (with his beautiful Bond Girl-wife, Carey
Lowell), and wowed the crowd who all wore red (or black
and white).
Marty, known as one of the most generous men on earth,
with the biggest, reddest heart, gathered some 500 of his nearest
and dearest and packed the red decorated ballroom, spilling
over with flowers by Remco.
The ceremonies honored Richard Gere and Carey for
their long and ongoing humanitarian support and commitment.
The star-filled evening benefits the Mary Lea Johnson
Richards Research Institute, and the Children's
Advocacy Center, which helps abused and abandoned children,
two charities dear to Marty's generous heart.
