Up The Winter
Story

MONG
the stars in Aspen this winter were Desperate Housewives’
Nicolotte Sheridan, who got quietly engaged to her beau Nicklas
Soderblom, while staying at the Little Nell Hotel; Britney
Spears and her new husband Kevin Federline; Kate
Hudson, Chris Robinson, Goldie Hawn and Kurt
Russell; Katie Couric and her two daughters Elinor
and Caroline; Anne Hearst, and her son Randy,
who had a small mishap on his snowboard that landed him in the
hospital for one night.
Also Gregory
Peck’s son Tony Peck and his son Zack by Cheryl
Tiegs; Michael Douglas’ ex, Diandra Douglas; Prince
Dimitri of Yugoslavia; Paula Zahn and her husband Richard
Cohen; Julia and David Koch; Anne Bass; Melanie
Griffith and Antonia Banderas; the singer Thalia;
Adam Sandler and Mariah Carey.
The Swiss jeweler Chopard threw a party to open its first outpost
in the Rocky Mountains, where its U.S. division president, Thierry
Chaunu, his wife Vivian, and associate Stephanie
Labeille greeted guests, including the ski town’s mayor Helen
Klanderud; The Sopranos’ Jamie Lynn DiScala
and hubby AJ DiScala; Kerry Kennedy with Stuart
Sundlun.
Also Dr. Patrick
and Stephanie Maxwell from Tennessee; Nicole Miller;
Tracy and Jay Snyder; Michele and Larry
Herbert; Suzanne Pfister; Fernando and Maria
Allende; Jason Binn, who has a new magazine called Aspen
Peak; and Denise Rich, smiling as a percentage of all
the luxury store’s sales went to support her G&P Foundation
for cancer research.
Brittny Gastineau
and her mom Lisa, in town filming their new E! Network
series The Gastineau Girls, tried on a stunning four
million dollar diamond and ruby necklace and the house’s
stunning Ice Cube necklace, made of 1,608 diamonds set in white
gold. Ooh la la!
Just around the
corner, the legendary Italian jeweler Bulgari entertained 300 in
their new location with a Dazzling White Night of glamour. Guests,
including Haley Binn with her father Miami hotelier Alan
Lieberman, interior designer Richard Mishaan with his
lovely wife Marcia, Aspen Magazines’ Janet
O’Grady and Missy Spencer, Kieron Kawall and
fitness guru High Voltage, R. Couri Hay, Catherine
Brewton and Cynthia Petro, entered through an ivory
colored tent that had been erected over the street.
They were greeted
by Bulgari America’s managing director Francois Kress and
marketing director Marlene Aguilar and were awestruck by
the blazing white décor, enhanced for the night by sexy living
Barbarella-esque tableaux in the windows and six-foot tall
cylinders of white roses and white amaryllis.
The highlight was a fashion show with models wearing the elegant
jewelry, especially Aubrey Brewer who came out in a white
Russian squirrel short coat and brown fur pants by Fendi. When she
took off the coat, gasps were audible as she was bare breasted
except for the House’s famous million-dollar diamond Astrale
Halter.
Even Wonder
Woman Lynda Carter was thrilled when she tried on a
pair of $76,000 platinum pear shaped diamond chandelier earrings.
There was a chic dinner at the posh Caribou Club, which too had
been transformed into a dazzling white bistro in honor of
Bulgari’s evening. Among those enjoying dinner and dancing and
another fashion show was
Jordan
’s exquisite Queen Noor.
