HE
American Girl Place on Fifth Avenue was the venue for the
associates committee of the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering
Cancer Center’s Thirteenth Annual Bunny Hop.
The
wonderful event raised a whopping $258,000 to be used to complete
the Teen Room in the newly renovated department of pediatrics,
where teenagers listen to music, watch movies and use computers to
do their homework, just like teens everywhere.
The
evening was sponsored by Scalamandre, the luxury fabric house that
was represented at the party by owners Wiggie and Mark
Bitter and their daughters Carter and Collie.
The
Bunny Hop’s hard working chairmen were Leslie Coleman,
there with her husband Kevin and sons Stuyvie and Avery,
Mary Darling with her husband Michael and children Annabelle
and James, and Leslie Heaney with her husband Andrew.
It
was a family affair all the way. The Society’s president CoCo
Kopelman was with her daughter Jill Kargman and
granddaughter Sadie; Rand and Jessie Araskog
with their family: Sophia, Andrew, and Kathy Thomas;
Mort Zuckerman with daughter Abigail; Robert
Watman with daughter Carley, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos
with her son Peter; Kevin McLaughlin with his pretty
little Madeline, Ted Kruckel with his niece, and Eva
Dillon with daughter Lily.

Also
having a blast with their children were Tory Burch, Amy Fine
Collins, Jennifer Creel, Stephanie and Roger Griswold,
Alexis Waller and Rachel Hovnanian.
There
were 450 adults and 450 children, enjoying the gorgeous floral
decorations donated by DeJaun Stroud as well as face
painters, sweets from Dylan’s Candy Bar, delicious hors
d'oeuvres and hot dogs.
Many
bid at the silent auction for items including a Le Supreme day of
beauty at Frederic Fekkai and a private birthday party at the
American Girl Place.
To
add sparkle, there were characters and performers including Lea
Marie, Kevin Kruger Party Kidz, Magic Al, Mikey Mike
Entertainment, the Berenstein Bears, and the Radio City Rockettes.
And
more guests: Hilary Dick, Sallie and Mark Giordano,
Eugenie Niven, Debbie and Serena Bancroft, Jeffrey Hirsch,
Melanie Seymour Holland, Webb Egerton-Warburton, Lauren Short,
Chappy Morris and Christina Vita-Coleman.
Give
the Society’s Nicole Micco, Barbara McLaughlin, Evie Brown,
Eliza Nordeman, Renee Cutting and their huge team of
volunteers a bunny hug and a huge hip hip hooray! |
