To Ward Off Liver Disease

KAUFMAN, the
Snapple Lady for 10 years, came to the American Liver Foundation
dinner with her husband-to-be, Steven Harkins, marketing
director of Tubetech of Newark, New Jersey. The wedding takes
place May 22 in Glen Head, New York.
Wendy, who served as
emcee, was eager to support the organization as she was diagnosed
eight years ago with a kidney ailment called PBC.
More than 420 black-tie
guests attended he fourth annual Flavors of New York Culinary Gala
at the Pierre Hotel, which raised $420,000 for the New York
chapter to help those who suffer from hepatitis and other liver
diseases.
Gray Kunz,
owner of Café Gray in the Time Warner Center, hosted this
year’s spectacular gourmet feast created by seven of the
city’s top chefs.
Chapter president Carl
Deddens presented the Spirit of New York Award to Roche
pharmaceuticals. Michael Brunda accepted this corporate
tribute on behalf of the company. |
