SPEN
was white hot with snow and stars over the holidays. There was
Jordan’s Queen Noor; Madeline Albright; new grandma Goldie
Hawn with Kurt Russell; Jack
Nicholson; Kevin Costner
with his fiancée Christine Baumgartner; Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith; RJ Wagner; Roberta Flack; Don Johnson and Kelley
Phleger.
In
addition there were Will and Jada Pinkett Smith; Joan
Collins and Percy Gibson; ER star Goran Visnjic;
homerun king Barry Bond; Mariah
Carey and Louis Miguel; Saturday
Night Live’s Lorne
Michaels and Kevin Nealon and Phyllis George.
Also
enjoying the skiing were designers Richard Mishaan and Carolyne
Roehm, socialites
Liz and Damon Mezzacappa, Anne Bass, Laura Hunt, and
Patricia Duff with her daughter Caleigh Perelman; David and Julia Koch
with brother Bill Koch and his fiancée Bridgette Rooney, Disney’s Michaels Eisner;
The Mets’ Mike
Piazza; Saudi Arabia’s Prince Bandar; scribes R. Couri Hay,
Michael Conniff and
Janet O’Grady; tennis star Monica Selles; and
comedians David Spade and Carrot
Top.
Clean
and sober fun seemed to be the new fad. Just ask Robert Downey,
Jr. or Diana Ross who was there with her two teenage
sons.
One
of the highlights of the season was a reception at the chic Prada
store on Galena Street followed by a private dinner at Harley
Baldwin’s wonderful Caribou Club.
Among
the guests sitting around the fire and listening to André Leon
Talley – dressed in a full-length Russian ermine coat –
read from his book, ALT: A Memoir, were Sex And The
City’s Kristin Davis and Grace Naughton; MSNBC
news hunk Dan Abrams; Natalie Cole and her son Robert
Adam Yancy; financial crisis guru Richard Torrenzano;
Nicole Miller and Denise Rich.
Also
philanthropist Melva Bucksbaum; Kent Crown, the
grandson of Lester and Renee Crown, who own the
Aspen Ski Corp and the Aspen Mountain Club; Lauren King of
King’s World; Ted Turner's son Beau Turner with
his wife Gannon; Fernanda Niven; Jodi Guber; Ashley Schiff;
Bergdorf Goodman’s Engelbert DeCastro; Gucci’s Domenico
DeSole; Fendi’s Robert King and Francois Kress.
Prada’s
Katherine Ross, there with her husband DIA Art Foundation
Director Michael Govan and their daughter Arianna,
made sure the mood was festive and warm. |
